  1. Im kind of appalled that no comments have been posted on this chapter. Where round the bend spells out the abuse theme in arguably obfuscated but yet very clear and juicy words, this chapter cuts to the core of the political theme of the book: systemic financial / sociopolitical exploitation and abuse. Where round the bend reads like a psychedelic porno this chapter reads like a highly charged action movie yet meticulous documentary, and most of the violence is gratifying when you go with the narrative of the destructor. AFAIK Roman is another real life installment and you can feel him more vividly than most of the other installments, probably given that hes an actual friend of Alan. The bashing in of the riot soldiers baffled faces perfectly paralels Mighty Mikes bashing of Uriel. Billiard cue and all. But the chapter is not just hardpumped action. Its a tour de force of the greatest theft of the centuries (plural!) and a testimony to how the destructor as a metaphysical entity came to be. And yes, some very gratifying violence.
